Despite these challenges, there is progress. For example, organizations are taking greater responsibility for their people’s holistic well-being and actively seeking to earn their trust. This means a greater, more urgent focus on fostering employees’ emotional and mental health; creating cultures that build stronger connections among them, no matter where or how they work; and meeting their need for purpose in their work lives.
Leaders have an opportunity to operate from a revised playbook that is now more grounded in people-centered leadership qualities, such as compassion, presence, courage, and vulnerability.
